THE WOMEN’S PACIFIC
ROUTE REJECTS THE ASSASINATION OF ONE OF ITS
MEMBERS IN MEDELLIN
Paradoxically, while in Bogota the Route
(the Women’s Pacific Route – which the Colombia Solidarity Campaign
supported earlier this year as they marched to the Ecuadorian border) was
presenting the book, “Violence against women in a society of war”,
in Medellin one of its members was massacred along with her son, niece and
nephew one of whom was less than 5 years old.

DECLARATION CONCERNING HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN COLOMBIA
The International
Opinion Tribunal convened in the European Parliament, in Brussels, on
September 15, 16, and 17, 2008. Having taken notice of the verdicts
of seven sessions between 2002 and 2008 of various opinion tribunals
concerning Colombia, and upon hearing the testimony of more than
twenty witnesses from various social movements and human rights
organizations and reviewing voluminous documentation, the Tribunal
concluded that the allegations before it of State crimes had been
substantiated.

DECLARACION DE BRUSELAS
SOBRE LAS VIOLACIONES DE LOS DERECHOS HUMANOS EN COLOMBIA
Reunido
en Bruselas en el Parlamento europeo, los días 15, 16 y 17 de
septiembre de 2008, el Tribunal Internacional de Opinión,
después de haber tomado conocimiento de los veredictos de
diversas sesiones y audiencias de varios Tribunales Internacionales
de Opinión, que tuvieron lugar entre los años 2003 a
2008 y después de haber oído las declaraciones de más
de veinte testigos de varios movimientos sociales y organizaciones de
defensa de los Derechos Humanos, que entregaron una abundante
documentación, el Tribunal concluyó que se trataba de
crímenes de Estado.
