MOVIMIENTOS Thursday 7th September "A politically inspired night of Latin Rhythms, Tropical Funk & documentary films on Latin America" @ The Salmon and Compass, 58 Penton Street, Corner of Chapel Market, Angel, Islington, N1 7pm - 2am Free Entry! DOWNSTAIRS: Old school Salsa, Ska, Mambo, Latin Hip Hop, Reggaeton, Brazilian & Boricua beats hosted by DJs Arias & Springfield with guest DJ Gerry Lyseight (BBC London/Mambo Inn) & special guest live musicians for a descarga jam!!! UPSTAIRS (From 7pm): This month - films focusing on the Latin American experience in London featuring ' En Exilio' & photograhic exhibition called 'En Exilio : Latin American Portraits in London'. Film and photographs are based on twelve in-depth life history interviews with Latin American refugees living in London. The film will explore the difficulties of making a home away from home and coming to terms with living in exile.
